Hi!
I'm Jason, based in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire.

Just coming into my 3rd year and looking forward to a busy 2010.
Ultimate aim is to go full time with my web development (software - not design), and combine this with the DJ services side.

Gear is Mackie450V2, LD Systems Active Subs, DDS80, booth/stand, ADJ ParCans, DynaRoll+ 2x DynaTwins, and a bunch of LED Moonflowers and Halogen MoonFlowers.
I also have a complete 2nd rig (Stand+Cloth+Amp+Mixer+Speakers+CD Players) as spare.

Lots of wedding bookings this year (compared to 2009), and good conversion through face-to-face meetings.

Currently working through PAT testing, and off the back of this, creating an inventory for planned equipment insurance.

Best wishes,
Jason

No need to ask why Damien is so named biggrin.gif

Hi Jason and welcome.

What stand/booth do you use? If its the Deck Stand Booth that James and Co. do then I would be interested on reading a review from a user when you get chance. I use the S+H with an Ultimax deck stand inside it but although I really like it it is a bit pricey so I am interested to hear about other options.

Hi Sandy, Andy, and Damien. Thanks for the warm welcome.

I'm using a Stand created by a guy named Andy who demonstated it at the recent SEDA show.
This is fabricated from Alloy, with cross bracing. Its strong and light.
It fits the NJD starcloth, which has been modified with Velcro top and bottom to provide a very good fit.
Pics:

Its another option. The stand is strong, and contains a shelf for my equipment. Set-up is very quick and it can be carried in one hand (and also folds flat).

Jason

Yes, thats what we thought. Only complaint is NJD's cloth should be 2.1M wide, but all (including the one I brought came up too "slim" at ~1.9M.
This gives a small 10mm gap between the cloth and the rear upright of the stand. Andys work is fantastic, and the work done to the cloth is of high quality - shame NJD can't cut material to size! (rant over...)

Shame I was pushed into a quick setup on the above gig. Should have been 7pm start, but client's sister wanted lights off at 6:45, and then complained about the background music...

It wasn't a surprise, and no other guests were there. Was a good party though, and quite a few cards were requested, and we got a very nice glowing email from the client - which is always nice.

The frame was £290, which I consider to be good value for the work involved, and the end result.
The NJD cloth was £97 from RSD Music, he's one of my trusted suppliers.
(although, I nearly brought some bits from DFB in the week- just didn't have my card to hand!)

I'll PM you Andys details.

Thanks,
Jason

I did my first "solo" gig yesterday with it. A nice local 2 1/2 kids party - and couldn't take any evening gigs (my children are over this weekend).
Applying the cloth took me about 2 mins, so total set-up was very quick, and looked neat.

Set-up was easy, and on pack-up I found the shelf fitted inside the frame, so I didn't have to carry 2 parts.

I just need inflatable speakers, and wifi based DMX and I'll be very happy! rolleyes.gif
