Hi!
I'm Benny, based in London. I've been part time for about 3 years now, covering most types of parties, with a gradual increase to the wedding market.

Cheers!
Benny!

Hi Jay!
This varies - wedding quotes are being won at £390+ depending on time and service required.
Birthday Parties are more fickle, and I struggle to get more than £300.

I provide contract/booking forms and copies of my PLI and PAT certs (basically a booking pack) with SAE. This also allows me to include a small brochure.

I currently do not have any extra services (moodlighting etc), but may consider that this year as it is being requested.

Its mainly down to marketing and aiming at the right market. Good photos are 100% essential here, get a photos of a few good gigs in a nice venue and the photos will sell your service much easier than anything else!

When I do a client meet (pre-booking), I hand over a photo album of past gigs and you can almost hear "I want some of that!".
If a pre-booking meet is not possible, then a password protected online gallery is provided and normally has the same effect.

As with most of us, the main problems are the "how much" brigade. Sending a 4 page email won't be read- they just want to see a (low) price.
I've a fairly good template, that briefly outlines the benefits of booking, and provides a price. If they don't provide much information and no telephone number, I make it clear that the price is an estimate and a quick telephone call will result in a more accurate price.

Hi Andy!
I'm not sure what you mean? I am based and work mainly in London - never been to Bristol!
