Well I did a Wedding on Wednesday night and was treated really well and decently and spoken to like a human being and what a contrast tonight...this up herself b1tch came so close to being told where to get off.
Tonight was for Ford Motor Company...bit of a pizz up following a day-time conference, it all started because they were due to be out of the room for a turn round between 6pm-7.15pm and it never happened till almost 7o'clock. this horrible woman who turned out to be the PA for the Departmental Director about 35 who really fancied herself started on me about getting set up quickly. I was in the hotel for about 5.45pm sitting out by the pass drinking coffee and chatting to the staff and Hanna the Room Manager was there and backed me up which the woman didn't like. The next time she asked how long I just said 3 minutes from last time you asked and carried on ignoring her, I actually got set up for 7.20...about 25 mins and they didn't get back to the room till about 7.45pm anyway. Part way through the meal this woman came up and ordered me to do the draw, I asked what draw and she said had no one told me to which I said no but if she would like to tel me I would do it for her...it turned out to be a ticket stuck under a chair, but it wasn't so much what she said but the way she said it. Whilst the coffee was on she came up and stuck her hand over the top of the booth towards my mic asking for the microphone...well no one uses mine so I grabbed it and said you can have this one and pulled out a radio mic from under the stand, she started moaning about why she couldn't have mine and she hadn't got anything catching...I mean except for mine only being for me it only has a 2m lead...silly b1tch It came to a head at the end when I was stripping down and she came for the left over bottles of champaigne, I said the deputy Room Manager Eric took it about an hour ago and she started as if I was lying so I let her have it. I told her that I was sick of being spoken to like something on the bottom of her shoe and she was lucky I took it form her all night but enough was enough, at that point one of the staff that was listening came up and told her that when the Director went to bed at about 11.30pm he had asked for the left over bottles of champaigne to be collected and locked in the front office. She went off muttering...don't think sorry was in her vocabularly, as she was going I said if you've anything to say lets have it instead of muttering but she carried on out the door. Thing is it was a fantastic night, about 175 of them, packed floor all night and very few of them went to bed before the end. -------------------- Andy

The sad thing is it takes one peron amongst over a hundred nice appreciative ones to spoil it. Its very likely that her work colleagues are well aware of what she's like. Must admit....I'm like you about my mic. I have some kams that I hand out but noone gets my shure (not even Paul!!!!)

Me and my mic are like Clint Eastwood and his gun, but I always have 2 wireless AKGs ready and set to the correct levels under my deck stand just in case.
This was a classic case of being booked by the hotel and not being told anything about the function except for who it was for and the times. I'm sure you are right about this woman not being liked by her colleagues, she tried mixing with some of the younger girls on the dance floor but they formed their little groups and left her out. The Director was a nice chap, American or maybe Canadian and I have met him a couple of times before but he had a different PA last time and I did most of the dealings with him anyway. The girl that sang was very good and obviously used to singing in front of an audiance and if I had known before I could have got the mic set just nice for her with a bit of echo and so on but as it happened it was a minute or so into the first number before I had her sounding spot on, but afterwards she did comment on how good my system was and how I quickly adjusted everything and produced her really well. Sandy; if I knew you were still up I would have rang and had a moan about it...I was fuming and it took half a bottle of wine that Steve & Jes had left in the fridge door and 2 JDs to calm me down before I went to bed...well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it -------------------- Andy
